Dr. O’Quin earned her B.S. from The Ohio State University, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Michigan State University. She spent two years on a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Kansas in Lawrence. She recently returned to the faculty after serving as Associate Dean of the School of Natural and Social Sciences at Buffalo State. Dr. O’Quin has eclectic research interests, including creativity, social psychology, research methodology, and the psychology of humor. She has published 34 articles in diverse journals including the Journal of College Student Retention, Reading Research Quarterly, and Creativity Research Journal. Dr. O’Quin’s scholarly record includes more than 50 conference presentations and technical reports, as well as several funded grant proposals. She was honored to receive the Albert J. Harris Award (with co-authors) for outstanding published work from the International Reading Association in 2004.  She is a Lifetime member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
